by Robo Robb on Sep.23, 2012, under Arts
I sat down with Kevin and Mike this summer to talk about their process and other things that provide some insight into their zany humor. Kevin and Mike are the creators of Truth Dart. Truth Dart is an independently produced and distributed comic book that does a fantastic job highlighting the humor and surrealism in everyday life. Take a listen an enjoy this fantastic voyage through the brains of comic book creators!

Interview with Steven from My Excuse
by Robo Robb on Sep.21, 2012, under Rock
This summer I got to interview Steven from My Excuse across the street from the Palace of Auburn Hills. Supposedly this was the bands first English Language interview, it always feels great to be a first at something! My homie Bill from the Static Dial who is intertwined with the Greek Community in Southeast Michigan was able to make this happen and I am glad he did. Steven shares some interesting insights into his view of the States and his view of Greece, as a American Greek living in Greece (I think that’s how you word it? He was born in America and grew up in Greece… so he’s an American Greek, right?). These guys rock in concert and their experience really shows. There is a reason they are one of the biggest groups in Greece!

Interview with Devin Laster
by Robo Robb on Sep.20, 2012, under Arts
I met Devin in 2011 after having commissioned him to work on the music video for [untitled]. Devin has a style all his own. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen painting quite like his and I really do feel you will be hearing about, and seeing a lot more from this dude in the future. This past summer I went to the Westside of Detroit to interview Devin at his studio/apartment (not to be confused with studio apartment). Being surrounded by his work really gave this interview a life all its own. Take a listen and enjoy!

Radio Interview with Full Impact Theater
by Robo Robb on Sep.19, 2012, under Arts
I was at work one day when a rag tag group of teenagers came strolling in to the shop asking if they may put up a flyer for their new production. As usual I had to start a conversation with them. I asked them all the typical questions I ask of people who want to put flyers up in the shop and found out that this was a Steam Punk rendition of King Lear. Well at that point they had said enough, I had to get these kids on my radio show. I was pleased they could make it to the station for an interview on such short notice, and we still had a great conversation. Take a listen and enjoy!

Radio Interview with Tasherre D’Enajetic
by Robo Robb on Sep.16, 2012, under Hip-Hop
In 2009, I sat down with Tasherre and we did a fantastic interview. It has been 3 years since this interview but I have finally been able to salvage it from the computer crisis I had back in the summer of 2009. Tasherre and I had met back in 2006 in Lansing at the Code of the Cutz shop. Tasherre has since become a good friend and is also a radio host as well. Take a listen and enjoy one of my ancient interviews!

Radio Interview with Fatt Father
by Robo Robb on Sep.11, 2012, under Hip-Hop
I got to speak with Fatt Father, after many rescheduling attempts, this summer. He is one of the funniest people I follow on twitter and I’m glad he was willing to converse with me on some more serious topics during this interview. That does not mean that he wasn’t also hilarious, because he was most certainly was. This conversation took many roads but they all came back to fatherhood. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation as much as I enjoyed having it. Take a listen and enjoy!

note* I don’t typically post album covers in my archives, but I needed a picture that represents Fatt Father fully and this picture does the trick!
Radio Interview with Odd Hours
by Robo Robb on Sep.03, 2012, under Rock
This summer I sat down with Natasha, Tim, and Mike at the station and not only did I get to discuss their music and their lives at length I also received my own personal concert. This was not just any personal concert. This was a concert that was rehearsed for my radio show (due to the limitations of our station when accommodating live performances). I was impressed. I have also grown quite fond of their Lo-Fi sound that works its way into my iPod shuffle on occasion. Take a listen I’m sure you will enjoy them as much as I did!

2012 Interview with Nicolay
by Robo Robb on Sep.02, 2012, under Hip-Hop
I had the opportunity to interview Nicolay again, and actually meet him in person this time. I got to speak with him after sound check when he was on tour in Detroit. I think this interview couldn’t have gone any better as far as follow up interviews go. Take a listen and enjoy!
