I got to speak with Joe Doughrity earlier this year. He is the dude behind Corner Store… oh you never heard of Corner Store? Well you… I bet you will hear about it sooner or later. Joe is a very interesting guy with much love for Detroit. Him and I shared our love for comic books and had a great conversation about Detroit’s image in the media. Take a listen and enjoy!

I had the chance to sit down with Chris Ringler from Flint Michigan and discuss his latest book The Meep Sheep. This was the first book I have read, sent to me by the author, that I actually was interested in following up with an interview. During my course at the radio station many authors have submitted books for me to read and Chris’s book was interesting enough to warrant an interview. I have never interviewed any of my relatives… Before this day. I got to interview my Aunt recently about her art work. My Aunt is a painter and is very passionate about her work. This is not a long interview so go ahead and take a listen I’m sure you will get a kick out of it just as I did.

Before I left Charlotte, NC I just had to interview this dude. I kept hearing great things about him from everybody. Andy is the doorman (ID Checker, Money Collector and Wristband dispenser) for the Milestone, by far my favorite music venue in Charlotte. The Milestone has the feeling of a great Detroit dive bar, it really made me feel like I was home when I was hundreds of miles away. Take a listen to the interview, I am really proud of the audio collected (the background noise in this is priceless).

A couple weeks ago I sat down with MOLA 1 from the Definition Band. We discussed many things from Karate to the Electric Cello. Martin (a.k.a. MOLA1) was also recently cast in a movie, one of the many that have been in production around the Metro Detroit area. To find out more about the Definition Band and the man who wears many hats take a listen!

This interview was my first official “back stage” interview, It was conducted at the McGlohon Theater in Charlotte NorthCarolina. The Carolina Chocolate Drops are an Old Time band with a new wave twist. I was honored to be able to speak to these guys (and gal) before their show on October 15th, 2009. Local Detroit filmmaker Lawrence Lamont Jenkins recently released his first short film titled Patzer. After watching I was very inspired to speak with the dude. Also be on the look out for some new projects this young man is working on and keep an eye out for a possible entry into the Sundance Film Festival.
