Recently I took a new job and it keeps me on the road many days a year. Sometimes I find myself in the most boring small towns imaginable. One such town was Mt. Pleasant, unless you are a college kid looking to get drunk there really isn’t much to do in this town. After dinner one night this spring I decided to take a stroll through down town, which shuts down earlier than Flint. I looked down one side street and saw a marquee for a small venue and the name “The Macpodz”, in movable letters, indicated that they were playing that night. Having no way to get a hold of them, seeing as how I have never met them before, I left them a note with the lady tending the bar saying to give me a call if they’d like to do an impromptu interview that night. An hour later back at the hotel I got a call from Brennan of the Macpodz and we made the interview happen. This is the third time I have had Emily on my show. In my opinion there is never to many times to have Emily down to the station. She read my palm again and played us some new music. Emily has won Folk song writer of the year again at the Detroit Music Awards (two years in a row). This young lady is definitely doing something worth listening to and watching. Enjoy!

The first time I met Lake Louise she was known as Angela Smith. I had the privilege of judging her performance at Oakland University’s Rising Stars. OU Rising Stars is Oakland’s equivalent to American Idol. Lake Louise is a singer song writer who plays guitar and piano. This interview also includes a live performance. Listen and enjoy!

I interviewed Glen Naylor via telephone while she was visiting the states. Glen is from Australia and took a trip to Nashville recently. I had the pleasure of interviewing her. She is a grandmother and a children’s musician. This was a very fascinating interview, take a listen.

Emily Rose is a great friend of mine. Not to mention she is hands down one of my moms favorite artists that I have worked with. This is my first interview with Emily (come to think of it another interview with her is long overdue). I don’t believe we even had planned on interviewing anybody on that night, she just happened to be on the show before ours (which was hosted by Drew Dawson a great photographer I have also interviewed) and decided to stick around and speak with us. Take a look and listen towards the past with this great conversation.

Squeezing everything into a busy schedule can take a toll on the quality of my work at times. This is one of those times. Although I am very pleased with the interview. Interviewing  while driving to work does not provide the best sound quality. Stacie is a wonderful musician from New Jersey! She was very engaging as an interviewee and I hope she reaches the stars. This interview was conducted via the telephone while Cory was on the road driving to a gig. Cory is a very interesting dude with much love for the South. The man with a big beard is doing big things, be on the look out for him traveling the country with a masters degree he has no use for!

When I read this young ladies bio I automatically thought of my good friend Emily Rose. She is environmentally conscious and loves to do things her own way. Vanessa has a very interesting story and fabulous family history. We went on the longest tangents on some of my favorite topics to discuss. I hope you enjoy listening to this interview as much as I enjoyed conducting it!

This interview was my first official “back stage” interview, It was conducted at the McGlohon Theater in Charlotte NorthCarolina. The Carolina Chocolate Drops are an Old Time band with a new wave twist. I was honored to be able to speak to these guys (and gal) before their show on October 15th, 2009.
