When I read this young ladies bio I automatically thought of my good friend Emily Rose. She is environmentally conscious and loves to do things her own way. Vanessa has a very interesting story and fabulous family history. We went on the longest tangents on some of my favorite topics to discuss. I hope you enjoy listening to this interview as much as I enjoyed conducting it!

This interview was my first official “back stage” interview, It was conducted at the McGlohon Theater in Charlotte NorthCarolina. The Carolina Chocolate Drops are an Old Time band with a new wave twist. I was honored to be able to speak to these guys (and gal) before their show on October 15th, 2009. If you have never been to a Cotton Lilly show you are seriously missing out. They bring a whole suitcase of instruments and encourage the audience to play along with them. Check out Cotton Lilly as they take the folk scene by storm. This has to be one of my favorite performances from my show. Also, check them out cause me and Janet Lilly used to date one another!

This dude was very impressive he brought out a banjo and a guitar. On top of being a great musician he is also an IT dude. Either way you slice it this dude will be very successful one day… check him out!

This is the biggest music fan you will ever meet. On top of being a huge music fan he is also a music journalist. After leaving the Flint Journal he went to Austin Texas and started blogging and covering the biggest new music conference in the country. Listen in and get a journalists perspective of the world!

This duo is not only musically inclined, they also tell a great story. This is one of my favorite interviews I have ever done, I felt like Ira Glass or something. Check out one of their shows if you ever happen to be in the Flint area.

This interview took place outside of Starbucks on the side walk, the backround noise is a real audio treat! This was a interview I did for WXOU’s special coverage of the Lake Orion Fireworks. There is also a little live performance at the end of this segment.

In the spring of 2008 I had Pato, Emily Rose and D. Allie join me on my radio show for a spectacular broadcasting event. Coincidentallyall three of them where nominated for Detroit Music Awards this past year. I am very proud to call them all my friends and share with you this great impromptu moment from Pato and Emily. Pato played “a change is gonna come” by Sam Cooke, and was accompanied by Emily. my interview with Tony Rizzo @ the Wire Studios in Lincoln Park

So here’s what I’m going to do… I’m going to try to recollect something from every year of my life… Let’s go (the first years will be all things I was told about since I was obviously not able to remember)

0. I lived in a apartment with my parents and my bedroom was made of records stacked around.

1. I tried to climb out of my crib by climbing on my curtains and swinging over the bars.. The curtains came crashing down and I cut my chin open.

2. my first memories of my life come.. I remember playing with smurf toys at my babbysitter jackies house.

3. I remember starting Montessori school and making my first friend, Farahn.

4. I had my first sleep over… We watched meatballs on TV.. The kid had a TV in his room!!!

5. I graduated kindegarten and left Montessori care.

6. I started elementary school and told my first lie. I thought I was going to get thrown in jail.

7. I acted up so much in 2nd grade I was put on a behavior contract.

8. I got in so much trouble at YMCA afterschool care I got kicked out and my elementary school had to start their own program.

9. I got in a accident that put me in a wheel chair changing my life forever.

10. I left new jersey with my family and moved to Michigan.

11. Started my first band. And got drunk for my first time.

12. I began working part-time landscaping.

13. Some kid came up to me and told me BIG was a bitch tupac forever…. Lol wow

14. I began rapping.

15. Went to a rave.

16. Got in a shit load of trouble with the cops. Went through a windshield in a car accident … Always buckle up.. That hurt. Got play lol

17. Had my first girl friend. Recorded my first original track with DJ Bullfrog and Doelle.

18. Went to schoolcraft college. Started Hi-Hill Recordings.

19. Started Baker college. Released my first real album.

20. Had my heart broken for the first time.

21. Released my first solo album. Started performing.

22. Started Oakland University. Started Robo-Robb Radio.!!

23. Got my heart broken for the second time. Released save the music!!!

24. Put out my first music video.
