Radio Interview with the Blat Pack!

by Robo Robb on Dec.26, 2011, under Hip-Hop

The first time I ever got to chill with the menagerie known as the Blat Pack! Philthy, J Young, JAE Music, William Ketchum, and Randall Glass (I still want to call him Rupert for some reason he seemed like a season golf caddy from a prestigious country club… one of those dudes who makes like 100k a year just carrying clubs) sat down with me for a fantastic interview. Take a listen and enjoy!

Radio Interview with Quelle

by Robo Robb on Nov.24, 2011, under Hip-Hop

Quelle was a great interview. I will be honest, I hate phone-in-interviews because they are so boring. This phone-in was not boring at all. Quelle was like walking through fisherman’s wharf eating a bread bowl with some clam chowder in it giving individual serving size boxes of cereal to homeless folks on the street. Whatever he was doing made this interview interesting and that is always essential for anything conducted over the phone. Take a listen to Quelle and brush up on the dude… he will be in your living room shortly. Kenneth Burke would love this dudes music on the “symbolic” nature of the world. Foucault is probably preparing a discourse analysis on Quelle’s latest album from his grave. Enjoy.

I'm under the impression this is what a magical dude like Quelle looks like?

Radio Interview with Spill Seed and Tone Grown

by Robo Robb on Nov.24, 2011, under Hip-Hop

I got to interview Spill Seed, another DJ at WXOU, and he brought his friend Tone Grown with him. This interview is not for anyone under the age of 13 years old or anyone with a weak stomach. We talked about rapping and hacking. It was very insightful and exposed me to a world I had never known before. Take a listen and… well normally I’d say enjoy but this is not an easy interview to listen to, even I had a hard time stomaching Spill Seeds conversation… Take a listen and buckle your seat belts folks!

Interview with Omar Offendum

by Robo Robb on Oct.21, 2011, under Hip-Hop, World

The first time I heard of Offendum was, on the big homie Big A’s album, on the song “Te-Le-Le-Vision”. Then this past March my friend Saman called me, from the concert “Gaza Strip to Detroit”, trying to locate  a studio so all the fantastic artists at this event could collaborate (including Omar Offendum). Throughout the course of the Arab Spring I have been following many sources in and outside the Middle East on Twitter, and many of them are huge supporters of Omar Offendum. This dude is everywhere for a good reason. Finally this summer I decided I needed to speak with this dude so we arranged to meet, at the Arab American Museum in Dearborn this September, before his concert. In this interview we talk about everything between Syria and architecture and then some. Take a listen and enjoy!

Radio Interview with J. Scriptz

by Robo Robb on Oct.21, 2011, under Hip-Hop

I first met this dude during our Pakistan Flood Relief benefit concert at Oakland University. This summer I was able to speak with him about his ambitions and his expertise in information technologies, rap, and fatherhood. J Scriptz is a very humble dude and was glad I got the opportunity to speak with him. I am confident this isn’t the last we will be hearing from him. Take a listen and enjoy!

Radio Interview with Doc Waffles

by Robo Robb on Oct.03, 2011, under Hip-Hop

Doc Waffles is one of the more interesting people to have come on my show in the past year. For one, this dude is a antique book dealer. Two, his “rapper keeper” is Jane Fader. Last but not least, he raps about socks… “socks with a man eating a man eating shark on em’”. Oh yeah… he also brought Selfsays and J. Walker of Midcoast Most to join him for this interview. Supposedly J. Walker is his handler when he battle raps. So take a listen and enjoy! At the end you get to hear a little cypher with all three of these fine gents.

Interview with Spank Rock

by Robo Robb on Oct.02, 2011, under Hip-Hop

I had the opportunity to speak with Spank Rock before he opened of for Ke$ha this summer at DTE Music Theater. Spank Rock was one cool dude and willing to speak at length with me on a variety of topics. I have been playing his music on my show for years and was glad to finally be able to speak to him. Take a listen to this interview and enjoy!

Radio Interview with Quest Mcody

by Robo Robb on Sep.05, 2011, under Hip-Hop

I got to interview Quest Mcody a few months ago and was very impressed by where our conversation led. We didn’t just talk about MTV and battle rapping… we actually were able to dig deeper and discuss Quest for the Cure (his charity) and other issues of social significance. Take a listen to our interview and learn a little bit about Quest and the city of Detroit. Enjoy!

Radio Interview with Drew32

by Robo Robb on Aug.16, 2011, under Hip-Hop

I don’t even think I have to write much about this young fella. If I ever had a full length cartoon movie created after the adventures of Robo-Robb, and I fully intend on it, Drew32 would be my sidekick. Kind of like the Jr. Wall-E robot in the Wall-E movie. Drew is a stand up dude and he also can rap. If any of you “purists” have an issue with the kid come have a chat with me so I can enlighten you. I’m going to let the dudes radio play, blog buzz and magazine love stand for itself… Drew32 is one of the next big things out of Metro Detroit, if not ‘the next big thing’. Take a listen to the interview.
