Radio Interview with One Be Lo

by on Aug.20, 2012, under Hip-Hop

I was surprised to hear from One Be Lo a few months back and ask if he could join me on my show. Never before had an artist I had become hip to before the days of internet, an artist that I was truly a fan of, an artist that has got my money time and time again asked to be a guest on my show. This was new to me and was more than happy to get him on the show as soon as the star aligned. Not only was it an honor the interview was one of my best. Take a listen and enjoy as we get into some great conversations on the show!

Radio Interview with [mister]

by on Jul.09, 2012, under Hip-Hop

It is entirely unfair of me to take credit for this interview. mister and I have been friends for many years now, and I know too much about the dude to not have known where interesting conversations might arise during a discussion with him. If you did not already know, mister is one half of the hugely popular Detroit rap group Passalacqua. This interview actually was supposed to include Black Smith (the other half of Passalacqua) but I guess he was out fighting toxic avengers on the night we spoke. I do have to sadly inform the audience that the first half of this interview, the half where we discuss the early days of cutting in wrestling (which his grandfather was apart of) were unfortunately lost due to technical malfunctions. I am also happy that this interview became a follow up with mister because I’m able to use this awesome picture of mister when he was on vacation in Borneo riding giant house cats. Take a listen to what is left of the interview we had, and always remember that some conversations are meant to be fleeting. If everything we talked about was recorded there might be some dire consequences we had not anticipated. Enjoy!

Radio Interview with Joe Doughrity

by on Nov.24, 2011, under Arts, Film

I got to speak with Joe Doughrity earlier this year. He is the dude behind Corner Store… oh you never heard of Corner Store? Well you… I bet you will hear about it sooner or later. Joe is a very interesting guy with much love for Detroit. Him and I shared our love for comic books and had a great conversation about Detroit’s image in the media. Take a listen and enjoy!

Radio Interview with Drew32

by on Aug.16, 2011, under Hip-Hop

I don’t even think I have to write much about this young fella. If I ever had a full length cartoon movie created after the adventures of Robo-Robb, and I fully intend on it, Drew32 would be my sidekick. Kind of like the Jr. Wall-E robot in the Wall-E movie. Drew is a stand up dude and he also can rap. If any of you “purists” have an issue with the kid come have a chat with me so I can enlighten you. I’m going to let the dudes radio play, blog buzz and magazine love stand for itself… Drew32 is one of the next big things out of Metro Detroit, if not ‘the next big thing’. Take a listen to the interview.

Radio Interview with J. Fin

by on Oct.21, 2010, under Hip-Hop

This is not the first time I have interviewed J. Fin. This is actually one of the many times I have shared the airwaves with the dude. J. Fin is a former co-host of Robo-Robb Radio and is in my opinion “that rapper guy” on the campus of Oakland University. This interview marks the start of season 4 of Robo-Robb Radio, catching up with friends! Listen and enjoy.

Radio Interview with Ragity Man

by on May.05, 2010, under Hip-Hop

This is one of my first radio interviews ever in recorded history. If you listen back through the archives you can most definitely hear a big difference. Ragity Man is a multi-talented dude who raps and plays a dozen instruments. This is also one of the first live performances on Robo-Robb Radio so please bear with me. I think it is kind of cool to go back and listen to the progression through time. Enjoy!

Radio Interview with Midcoast Most

by on Apr.07, 2010, under Hip-Hop

My first memory of these dudes was meeting Bum at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. They were handing out towels with their name screen printed on them. Since then I have seen these dudes all over town. On top of Midcoast Most  performing and recording, Eddie Logix has been working with every known Detroit rapper under the sun. I finally had the opportunity to speak to these guys live on my radio show (only after the lovely Miss Kirby Kirbalicious beat me to it!). Take a listen and give the guys some feedback. I was very interested about how one group manages to live, make music and perform with one another all under the same roof.

Detroit Blight

by on Dec.17, 2009, under Adventures

A couple months back I took a trip to Wilmington North Carolina. I saw this abandoned building and thought this was an interesting way to add some life to a lifeless structure. I know doing this to every abandoned building in Detroit would be a little redundant but it couldn’t hurt to add a little life.

My Story/ Interview with Stephanie of Tonks and the Aurors

by on Oct.12, 2009, under Arts, journalism, Rock

This summer I was very busy collecting stories that I could air on WXOU in the Fall to help our news director out. My home girl Kirby “Kirbalicious” Hairston host of the 1 o’clock take over suggested I do a story on Wizard Rock. I had previously never even heard of such a thing and was intrigued enough to google “Wizard Rock Michigan” and the first group that popped up was Tonks and the Aurors. After sending a myspace message to Stephanie (the founder of Tonks and the Aurors) in the matter of just a few days I was making a trip to the lovely city on Ann Arbor to interview her. Below you will find the story I produced on Wizard Rock and beneath that is the full unedited interview for all of you who would like to know more! Enjoy!
